Associate Chemist

Esstential Job Functions:

  • Perform a large variety of routine and complex analytical procedures in the analysis of pharmaceutical products and raw materials by various testing techniques
  • Perform chemical analysis using wet chemical methods and analytical instruments including IC, ICPMS/ICPOES, GC-MS, C/N analyzer, TOC, etc.
  • Participate in QA/QC of testing and analytical instruments
  • Ensure that all laboratory documentation is always in regulatory compliance and inspection readiness
  • Ensure availability of chemicals and consumables and request replenishment when necessary
  • Sampling and field testing
  • Proficiency in operating chromatography equipment, with advanced experience using GC-MS and HPLC
  • Knowledge of analytical thermal analysis techniques such as TGA, DSC, and TMA
  • Responsible for maintaining and ensuring calibration of test equipment
  • Prepare and standardize test solutions and ensure proper handling and storage of all chemicals according to Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
  • Analyze and interpret qualitative and quantitative test results
  • Ability to cross-train and learn new equipment to provide back-up support within the lab

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Team player with good communication skills
  • Knowledge and experience in safe operation of test equipment and working in an independent laboratory
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and instrumentation software operation
  • Knowledge and experience with standard test equipment and the ability to maintain, clean and use such equipment in a safe working manner
  • Ability to flexibly adjust work schedules to meet customer needs
